A Web search engine is a search engine intended to search for details of information on the World Wide Web. The real details of information may consist of web pages, images and other types of files.
Some search engines as well mine data obtainable in newsgroups, databases, or open directories. Unlike Web directories, which are continued by human editors, search engines function algorithmically or are a mixture of algorithmic and human input.
